Drugs and electronics seized by UPSET in Gould City

GOULD CITY, MI--   The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team seized narcotics and equipment during a drug bust in Mackinac County.

UPSET and Michigan State Police personnel executed a search warrant Thursday at Laidlaw’s Country Corner Motel on US-2 in Gould City.  A search of three rooms and the main office and living quarters of the motel uncovered narcotics and cell phones, computers, and video recording devices.

Officials say a 25-year-old woman was arrested and lodged in the Chippewa County Jail on an outstanding warrant unrelated to the case.  A 27-year-old female was taken to Helen Newberry Joy Hospital for an unknown medical condition.  A 55-year-old man was arrested on a felony warrant for delivery of marijuana that was related to the investigation.

The case is being reviewed by the Mackinac County Prosecutor’s Office.
