Pot bust in the Eastern U.P.

KINROSS, MI--   The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team has discovered a pot-growing operation in Chippewa County.  

On Tuesday detectives conducted an investigation involving the illegal sale, distribution, and manufacturing of marijuana in Kinross.  They seized 85 marijuana plants, $3,900, and grow equipment. 

No arrests have yet been made, but the investigation remains ongoing.

UPSET was assisted by troopers from the Sault Ste. Marie Post.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
