Marquette Township B&E suspect facing more charges

MARQUETTE, MI--   Additional charges have been leveled against a Marquette Township man arrested in connection with numerous break-ins in the area.

Eric Dean Peterson, 26, was arrested last month after deputies saw him riding a bike near an unoccupied house in the Trowbridge area.  They say he took the bike and other items from the residence.

Peterson was originally charged with possession of cocaine - less than 25 grams and possession of prescription drugs.  He waived his preliminary hearing and was bound over to circuit court on two additional counts of second-degree home invasion.  A possession of marijuana charge was dismissed.

Peterson remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail.  His circuit court arraignment is set for February 12.

The Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation, which has expanded to other suspected breaking-and-entry crimes in Marquette Township, additional townships, and cities in the western portion of Marquette County.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
