Meth lab dumps found in Delta County

ESCANABA, MI--   The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team has cleaned up two meth dump sites in Delta County this week.

On Wednesday detectives were called to North 17th Street near the ski hill in Gladstone.  The dump was found by a pedestrian, who called Gladstone Public Safety.  Police secured the site until UPSET arrived.  Detectives say seven buckets of hazardous waste were removed from the scene.

On Thursday another meth lab dumpsite was found on 48th Street in Escanaba.  Public Safety officers secured that site until certified UPSET meth responders arrived.  In total, five buckets of hazardous waste were collected and removed.

No arrests have been made at this time.  The investigation continues.
