Downstate man arrested in Eastern U.P. on drug charges

(SAULT STE MARIE) -- A downstate man has been arrested in the U-P on drug charges. Friday around 2-30 a-m ‘Michigan State Police’ from the ‘Sault’ post conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in ‘Kinross Township.’

The 19-year-old driver was found to be in possession of psilocybin (sigh’-lo-sigh-bin) mushrooms. The man was arrested for ‘possession of a hallucinogen with intent to deliver.’ He remains lodged at the ‘Chippewa County Jail.’ 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
