Drugs arrests made in Marquette Tuesday

MARQUETTE, MI--    Two people were taken into custody on drug-related charges in Marquette Tuesday.

Over the past two months detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team and the Michigan State Police have been investigating a Wisconsin man for drug distribution. They obtained a federal warrant and arrested him Tuesday in Marquette. The man was in possession of more than 60 grams of suspected crystal meth and fentanyl. He was also charged with resisting arrest.

A second man from Marquette County was also arrested.

Both men were lodged in the Marquette County Jail.

Marquette City Police assisted at the scene.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
