BRUCE CROSSING, MI-- The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team seized $10,000 to $15,000 worth of drugs in Bruce Crossing last Thursday.
Detectives received information that two suspected meth dealers were traveling from Minnesota to Hancock with a large amount of crystal meth. Officers located the vehicle and stopped it near Bruce Crossing with the help of the Michigan State Police Hometown Security Team. A search warrant executed on the vehicle uncovered 7 ounces of crystal meth.
A search of a suspect’s home on Summit Street in Hancock revealed drug scales, drug packaging, and electronic devices used to facilitate illegal drug activity.
The incident is part of a nine-month UPSET investigation into the illegal distribution of crystal meth in both Houghton and Baraga counties.
The case is under review by the Ontonagon and Houghton County Prosecutor’s Offices.
