Marquette County man arrested for possessing methamphetamine

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team has arrested a Marquette County man on drug charges.

On Wednesday detectives learned that a known drug user had recently purchased some household products used to manufacture meth. Officers located him and a female suspect at his cabin on South Camp Road in Ishpeming Township.

Detectives arrested the man for possession of meth and obtained a search warrant for his vehicle and cabin. They also executed a warrant at a second residence on Elm Street in Gwinn. A search of the properties resulted in the seizure of components used to make meth.

The man remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail. The female suspect was released.

The case remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
