UPSET arrests WI drug suspects in Iron County

IRON RIVER, MI--   Two Wisconsin residents are jailed after police found drugs in their vehicle during a traffic stop south of Iron River.

An investigation into the distribution of drugs in the Iron River/Caspian area by UPSET detectives led to the stop on M-189 on Tuesday. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a half-ounce of heroin, a half-ounce of crack cocaine and $3,400 in cash. Police say the drugs were packaged for distribution.

Eric Young, 39, of Oshkosh was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver heroin, maintaining a drug vehicle, and 4th degree fleeing and eluding.

Arnette Jackson, 39, of Green Bay, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession with intent to deliver heroin.

Young and Jackson remain lodged in the Iron County Jail, Young on a $100,000 bond and Jackson on a $25,000 bond.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
