UP fugitive charged with murder in Oregon

PLEASANT HILL, OR--   A Kingsford man who fled Dickinson County before he was due to stand trial for domestic violence has been charged with murder in Oregon.

WLUC-TV says Andrew Geronimi, 34, is accused of shooting and killing Caelen Bosisto of Pleasant Hill, OR Monday morning. Her husband Staton was shot in the head and is hospitalized. His condition is unknown. The couple’s two-month-old baby was not injured.

Geronimi is charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, and attempt to commit a crime. He’s lodged in the Lane County Jail.

Geronimi was arrested in January for holding a woman hostage in Norway, Michigan. He was charged in that incident with unlawful imprisonment, assault with a dangerous weapon, and two counts of resisting/obstructing an officer. He posted 10 percent of a $15,000 bond March 18 and was bound over to circuit court.

A bench warrant was issued for Geronimi when he failed to show on Zoom for a pretrial conference May 17.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
