UPSET nabs two on meth charges

DELTA COUNTY, MI— The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team arrested two Marquette County residents on charges related to the delivery of crystal meth.

Over the past month, UPSET detectives obtained information that the suspects were suspected of traveling to Wisconsin and returning to Marquette County with large amounts of the drug.

On Thursday, detectives and troopers from the Michigan State Police Eighth District Hometown Security Team conducted a traffic stop on a suspect vehicle in Delta County. The driver, a 29-year-old Marquette man, and passenger, a 29-year-old Marquette woman, were arrested when troopers located approximately 110 grams of crystal meth in the vehicle.

Both remain lodged in the Marquette County Jail on charges of delivery of meth.
