Meth lab found in Houghton house

HOUGHTON, MI— Michigan State Police discovered a meth lab when they served an arrest warrant at a Houghton residence Tuesday afternoon.

As troopers from the Calumet Post served the warrant, they discovered narcotics in the house.

A search warrant was obtained and members of the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team searched the residence. Numerous meth manufacturing devices and components for making meth were seized.

The suspect remains lodged in the Houghton County Jail for possession of meth. The investigation continues and further charges are being sought through the Houghton County Prosecutor’s Office.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
