UPSET nabs 5 in methamphetamine investigation

SCHOOLCRAFT COUNTY, MI— Several people were arrested in connection with a meth investigation in Schoolcraft County last week.

Detectives with the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team, Michigan State Police, and officers from Manistique Public Safety executed search warrants at two residences Thursday. The investigation stemmed from a traffic stop that resulted in the seizure in crystal meth and the arrest of the driver.

During the search of one residence, officers uncovered crystal meth and evidence of drug distribution. Two people were arrested on charges related to the distribution of meth.

In the second residence, detectives found crystal meth, guns, and evidence of drug distribution. Two people were arrested near the second residence on outstanding warrants.

The case remains under investigation.
