Woman arrested for stealing Dickinson County gravesite items

Dickinson County Sheriff's Office

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI— Officials have arrested a suspect in the larceny of gravesite items from Dickinson County cemeteries.

On Friday, information led the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office to an address in Norway, where they found a large number of stolen items. Kayla Conley, 34, was later arrested in Iron Mountain and charged with larceny of $200 or more, but less than $1,000.

Deputies continue to process the recovered items. Those who have had items stolen from gravesites can claim their property from the Sheriff’s Office Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m.

To help with the process, residents should come prepared with a detailed list of missing property, along with their full name, address, phone number, and the name of the cemetery the property was taken from. A photo ID will also be required.

Those who can’t make those dates or times can contact the Sheriff’s Office to make other arrangements.
