Menominee County man charged with making terrorist threats against officials

MENOMINEE, MI— A Daggett man has been arrested for threatening various Upper Peninsula officials.

Menominee County Prosecutor Jeffrey Rogg says Peter Sand, 22, is charged with false report or threat of terrorism, using the internet/telecommunications to commit terrorism, and felony using a computer to commit a crime.

Sand is accused of leaving Rogg threatening voicemail messages in February. Additional evidence pointed to Sand making terrorist threats against City of Marquette officials and members of the Delta County Board of Commissioners. Detectives consider those cases solved.

Sand remains lodged in the Menominee County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
