Stolen items, drugs found in Hancock apartment

HANCOCK, MI— Police discovered drugs during a larceny investigation at a Hancock residence this week.

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office started looking into thefts from the Copper Country Mall last month. Deputies executed a search warrant at an apartment on Quincy Street in Hancock Tuesday. They found a large number of items stolen from Houghton and Portage Township businesses.

Deputies also discovered a large amount of meth and evidence of drug distribution.

A man was lodged in the Houghton County Jail on larceny and drug-related charges.

Anyone with information regarding the thefts, or who believes property was stolen from their business, is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 906-482-0055.
