Calumet Township man nabbed for possession of meth with intent to distribute

CALUMET TOWNSHIP, MI— A Houghton County man was arrested May 6 on meth-related charges, following a several-month-long investigation by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team.

UPSET detectives, the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office, and Michigan State Police from the Calumet Post executed a search warrant at a Calumet Township residence. They seized meth, drug paraphernalia, cell phones, and evidence of distribution.

A 25-year-old suspect was arrested on charges relating to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. He was lodged in the Houghton County Jail and awaits arraignment in 97th District Court.

UPSET detectives and the Houghton County Prosecutor’s Office are working collaboratively on a larger investigation involving multiple people distributing illegal drugs in the area.
