Ironwood man arrested for possessing meth, driving on a revoked license

IRONWOOD, MI— Michigan State Police from the Wakefield Post arrested a man on felony meth charges following a traffic stop in Ironwood.

On June 26, a trooper on patrol saw a man he knew had a revoked driver’s license operating a vehicle on Hemlock Street near Cedar Street. The officer tried to initiate a traffic stop but the subject was very slow to stop. The vehicle eventually came to a slow, rolling halt on West Ayer Street, about 300 feet from the Iron Belle Trail.

Investigation resulted in the discovery of suspected meth in the vehicle.

On Friday, Andrew Mills, 35, of Ironwood was arraigned in 98th District Court on charges of possession of meth, possession of meth within 1,000 feet of a park, and operating with a revoked driver’s license.

Mills remains lodged on a $50,000 bond (10 percent allowed) with conditions.

MSP was assisted by Ironwood Public Safety Department, Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office, and Iron County Sheriff’s Office.
