Michigan State Police arrest Marquette man for possessing and distributing child sexually abusive material

MARQUETTE, MI— A Marquette man has been arrested by Michigan State Police in connection with child sexually abusive material.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigated Joseph Bowers, 31, for possessing, manufacturing, and distributing the material on the internet. Police seized digital evidence when he was taken into custody.

Bowers is charged with five counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and five counts of using a computer to commit a crime. He faces up to 25 years in prison for the possession charges and 20 years for the computer charges.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
