MUNISING, MI— A Grand Marais man has been arraigned on charges related to child sexually abusive activity and filming people without their knowledge.
Alger County Prosecutor Robert Steinhoff says Maxwell Lundquist, 30, is charged with aggravated child sexually abusive activity, 24 counts of surveilling an unclothed person, and 25 counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
Steinhoff says the charges were a result of an investigation into Lundquist following a probation violation. Several electronic devices were seized.
He says a video of child sexually abusive activity was found on one of the devices. Other images and videos appeared to be of local residents—taken through the windows of their homes—and individuals using public bathrooms.
Aggravated child sexually abusive activity carries a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison. The other charges, along with Lundquist being charged as a habitual offender, will increase that maximum penalty to life in prison.
Lundquist remains lodged in the Alger County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
