MUNISING, MI— Two men were arrested in Alger County last month as part of a child predator sting.

Alger County Sheriff Todd Brock says on March 13, an undercover operation was conducted by personnel from the Alger County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Munising City Police Department, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, and the Forsyth Township Police Department. The operation, modeled after Genessee County’s “Ghost” operations, was designed to target child predators through online chat rooms.

Arrested were Anthony Drown, 38, of East Jordan and Bob Nesim, 30, of Levittown, Pennsylvania. Each is charged with child sexually abusive activity, two counts of using a computer to commit a crime, and accosting a child for immoral purposes. Nesim is also charged with computer/internet—communicating with another to commit a crime.

Both waived their preliminary exams. Drown is next due in court on May 12. Nesim will appear on May 15.

After the arrests, Alger County Sheriff Todd Brock stated, “I am extremely proud of the cooperative effort from law enforcement in these cases. Every arrest made pursuant to these operations is a step closer to a safer community. The message is that anyone intent on harming children will be met with the full force of law.”
