UPSET nabs 3 in eastern UP meth distribution case

ST. IGNACE, MI— Three people were arrested in Mackinac County by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team last week on felony drug distribution charges.

Several months ago, UPSET began an investigation into individuals suspected of bringing meth primarily to the eastern U.P. It indicated the suspects would get meth from sources downstate, bring it to the Upper Peninsula, and distribute it.

Last Wednesday, UPSET, Michigan State Police, and the Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office coordinated a traffic stop as the suspects returned to the U.P. Police seized about a quarter-pound of meth, money, and other drug-related evidence.

David Archambeau, 36, and Pamela Archambeau, 32—both of Naubinway—and Allysin Chambers, 37, of Newberry were all charged with delivery of meth and conspiracy to commit a felony.

All remain lodged in the Mackinac County Jail.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
