SAULT STE. MARIE, MI (AP)-- Tuition receipts at Lake Superior State University are about $2.5 million down from what school officials were expecting.
The Evening News of Sault Ste. Marie reports Sunday that Vice-President for Finance Sherry Brooks also told trustees at the school Friday that its deficit is close to $3 million.
Brooks says the school has "a hole to fill and some work to do on" the 2015-16 fiscal year budget.
Lake Superior State's 120 degree programs will be reviewed. School President Tom Pleger says many of the programs have low enrollment.
Staffing levels also will get a look for possible savings.
The school earlier this year trimmed about $2 million from its $38.5 million budget.
Lake Superior State is in Sault Ste. Marie and has about 2,500 undergraduate students.
