Undated – In Houghton County elections:
Democrat Scott Ala is vying for a seat on the County Commission against Republican Kimberly Salmi.
In Chassell Township Republican David Mattson is running against Allan Aho, who has no party affiliation, for the Township Supervisor spot.
There are several proposals on the ballot. A $15 million county-wide bond proposal would allow for the construction of a justice facility center.
In Osceola Township voters will consider a $1.5 million bond proposal for sewer system improvements.
1.5 mills over 10 years for road maintenance is on the Schoolcraft Township ballot.
In Torch Lake Township residents will consider a $3 million bond proposal for drinking water system improvements, as well as 1 mill over 10 years for fire and rescue operations.
In Laird Township a proposal of 1 mill over 6 years for fire operations will be considered.
A 3-mill, 5-year proposal for Village of Calumet operations is on the ballot.
In Laurium residents will vote on 1 mill over 8 years for snow removal.
In Lake Linden voters will consider a proposal of 1.5 mills over 6 years for police services.
