LANSING, MI— Early voting turnout for Tuesday’s primary election has outpaced 2024—the first year in-person early voting was available in the state.
That’s according to the Michigan Secretary of State. At the close of the nine-day early voting period on Sunday, a total of 138,680 voters had cast a ballot at an early voting site, an increase of 88.6 percent over 2024.
Also, as of 7 a.m. Monday, a total of 1,075,571 voters have returned their absentee ballot by mail, ballot drop box, or their clerk’s office. That’s an increase of 21.5 percent over the number of ballots returned one day before the August 2022 Primary.
