TRAVERSE CITY, MI (AP)-- Officials with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources are seeking input from the public on management plans for northern Lake Michigan islands.
Meetings are scheduled beginning Nov. 3 at the DNR Rose Lake field office in East Lansing.
Other meetings will be held Nov. 5 at the Northwest Michigan Horticulture Research Center in Traverse City and Nov. 6 at Beaver Island Community Center on Beaver Island.
The DNR says the proposed management plan for state-owned lands on northern Lake Michigan was initiated based on meetings with partners, tribal governments and other conservation organizations. A preliminary vision and set of draft goals and objectives have been developed.
