MARQUETTE, MI-- The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the entire Upper Peninsula today from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. EDT.
A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, warm temperatures, and dry fuels has produced dangerous wildfire conditions. The DNR says debris burning is not permitted anywhere in the U.P., but campfires, outdoor grills, smoking materials, chain saws, and all-terrain vehicles also have the potential to throw a spark and ignite a dangerous and destructive fire.
