Portion of Tahquamenon Falls boardwalk getting repaired

CHIPPEWA COUNTY, MI--   The Department of Natural Resources is shutting down a boardwalk at the lower Tahquamenon Falls day use area in Chippewa County so repairs can be made.

The half-mile stretch between markers 13 and 14 will be closed until June 15 while workers realign and level the walkway.

For those hiking the river trail between the upper and lower falls, a detour in place will require walkers to hike an additional 1.5 miles.

Access to the lower falls will remain open via the paved walkway or by rowboat.
