Electronic waste recycling site created in Marquette

Superior Watershed Partnership

MARQUETTE, MI— The Superior Watershed Partnership and Great Lakes Climate Corps have established a new electronic waste recycling site in Marquette.

The site will accept items like phones, televisions, computers, monitors, and printers. SWP officials say it’s important to keep toxic substances and heavy metals the electronics could contain out of landfills, as they may contaminate soil, air, and water.

The drop-off site is located in the Lakeshore Park complex across from McCarty’s Cove at 519 North Lakeshore Boulevard. It will be open to the public every Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., beginning April 2nd. Donations per drop-off will be accepted.
