Visit Keweenaw to hold Waterfall Week in May

HANCOCK, MI— With 339 inches of snow and counting, the Keweenaw is headed for a fantastic waterfall season.

That’s according to Visit Keweenaw. All that snow will melt and make its way to Lake Superior, transforming waterfalls like Eagle River Falls, Jacob’s Falls and Houghton-Douglass Falls.

Visit Keweenaw Executive Director Brad Barnett says. “This is the kind of year waterfall lovers dream about,” and winter isn’t even over. “When you get this much snow, you know what’s coming next—bigger flows, louder falls and unforgettable spring scenery.”

To celebrate the season, Visit Keweenaw is planning a “Waterfall Week” in mid-May, featuring a digital waterfall pass, guided hikes, and special events. More information is at www.visitkeweenaw.com.
