Fireworks show shortened by test shot flub

GLADSTONE, MI (AP)--   A fireworks display in Gladstone ended up shorter than planned after officials say a test shot accidentally ignited most of the pyrotechnics early.  

Gladstone Public Safety Director Paul Geyer tells the Daily Press of Escanaba that the test shot Monday night set off a box of fireworks, causing other boxes to ignite. Geyer says the remaining fireworks were set off during the Fourth of July display.

No one was injured.

In a statement, the city says winds blew the test shot toward the other fireworks. The city says it plans to seek a refund or schedule another future show.
