Road to Restoration clinics coming to the UP

MARQUETTE, MI— Three events aimed at helping residents restore their driving privileges will be held in the U.P. next week.

The Road to Restoration clinics are hosted by the Michigan Secretary of State and local partners. Michigan Department of State experts and volunteer attorneys will provide one-on-one consultations with attendees to check their current license status and answer questions on how they can safely return behind the wheel. Secretary of State services will be available on site, including vision testing and the written driver’s exam.

The clinics will be held as follows:

  • Ironwood on Tuesday, September 9th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ironwood Memorial building
  • Ontonagon on Wednesday, September 10th from noon to 2 p.m. at the Ontonagon Village Housing Commission
  • Marquette on Friday, September 12th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Marquette Charter Township Community Center

Participants are asked to bring payment for their driving record ($16) or to print out their driving record the day before and bring it to the clinic. If participants are eligible to have their license restored at the clinic, they will need the appropriate documents on hand: ID, birth certificate, and proof of residency.
