Soo fire that kills 4 deliberately set by resident, officials say

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI— The Sault Ste. Marie Police Department has released the identities of four people killed in a house fire in the city on March 14.

The adult victim is 31-year-old Alicia Adzima, 31, 4-year-old twin girls, Ella and Eva Clossick, and Emery Adzima, a 1-year-old boy.

Investigation has determined the fire was a murder-suicide. Soo Police say Alicia Adzima intentionally caused the fire with the intent to cause her own death and those of her children.

The case remains under investigation and no further information is being released at this time.

The Sault Ste. Mare Fire and Police Departments have been assisted by the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office & Victims Services Unit, Michigan State Police, MSP-Fire Investigation Unit, MSP Crime Lab-Marquette, MSP Crime Lab-Grand Rapids, and Chippewa County Central Dispatch.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
