LANSING, MI (AP)-- Veterans and active members of the U.S. armed forces could receive academic credit at Michigan colleges and universities for some military experience.
Governor Rick Snyder signed the law Tuesday along with others. He says there are many areas in which military experience overlaps with college courses.
Snyder also signed legislation preventing courts from modifying parental custody agreements if one parent asks for a stay under federal law and the children are in a safe home. The legislation was supported unanimously in the House and Senate.
Another new law allows alcohol to be sold at a set price at open bars at private events.
