LANSING, MI (AP)--   Governor Rick Snyder's chief of staff will lead a Michigan business law firm's government relations and regulatory practice group after leaving state government.

Dennis Muchmore will join Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP on February 1. His last day in Snyder's office is January 20.

The 69-year-old Muchmore's departure was announced in August. He's been chief since the Republican governor took office five years ago.

Snyder's communications director Jarrod Agen will succeed him.

Honigman said Monday that Muchmore will mentor the next generation of attorneys in its lobbying/ regulatory group. Muchmore says it's been an honor to serve with Snyder.
