Cambensy says her top district projects funded in new state budget

Rep. Sara Cambensy

LANSING, MI— State Representative Sara Cambensy is applauding a bipartisan budget passed this week by the Michigan Legislature.

She says her top three district projects—totaling $9.4 million—are funded through the bills. They include $250,000 for a new high-tech projector at the Shiras Planetarium at Marquette Senior High School, $6 million to upgrade infrastructure on County Road-407 in Luce County—paving the road from Deer Park to the Alger County line near Grand Marais, and $3.15 million for the new Beacon House in Marquette.

Cambensy says the $6 million project for Luce County was the third-largest enhancement grant awarded in this year’s budget.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
