Bill to prevent ORV licensing program from ending introduced by Rep. Jenn Hill

LANSING, MI— State Representative Jenn Hill has introduced a bill to prevent Michigan’s ORV licensing program from sunsetting.

It’s scheduled to terminate at the end of the year.

A license is required to ride eligible county roads, the frozen surface of public waters, state forest roads open to ORV use, and eligible national forest roads.

A trail permit is required when operating on state-designated ORV trails and scramble areas.

Hill says the ORV licensing program allows owners to enjoy a valuable outdoor recreational opportunity, while supporting the maintenance of the trails and infrastructure that make the experiences possible.
