Marquette residents can play community planner at June 14th workshop

MARQUETTE, MI— Officials are looking for ideas from residents about the potential redevelopment of several sites around the City of Marquette.

The Master Plan workshop will focus on the old Marquette Mall, the area around Tadych’s Marketplace, the Washington Street Corridor from US-41 to 3rd Street, the area west of Lakeshore Boulevard from East Ridge Street to East Fair Avenue, and the South Marquette commercial area along US-41 from Shiras Drive to Genesee Street.

It will be held Wednesday, June 14th at 6 p.m. at Lakeview Arena. Those interested need to register at www.marquettemasterplan.org.

All registrants will receive a pre-workshop packet with details about each site and some questions to get residents thinking about what is possible at each location.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
