ROCKLAND, MI-- A community in Ontonagon County has been struggling without water since Saturday.
A water main in the Village of Rockland broke early Saturday morning, spilling around 200,000 gallons of water into the ground. Crews have been working to isolate portions of the pipe to find the leak, but haven’t had any luck so far.
Village officials say they may have to outsource for equipment and help, which will prolong the dry spell.
About 150 households are affected by the break.
Bottled water is being made available at St. Paul’s Methodist Church on M-45, while water for flushing and washing dishes can be obtained at the fire hall.
