IRONWOOD, MI--   Aspirus Ironwood’s Paula Chermside has been named among the nation’s “Top 70 Critical Access Hospital CEOs to Know” by Becker’s Hospital Review.

The Review is a health care industry publication with an audience of 20,000 high-level hospital leaders. According to Becker’s, its list recognizes 70 CEOs for their dedication to advancing health care in their communities. Leaders were selected through an editorial process based on awards received; local, regional and national leadership positions held; and their organization’s recent performance.

Chermside is one of four executive leaders to receive the designation in Michigan and one of two from the Upper Peninsula. Under her leadership, Aspirus Ironwood was recognized among the nation’s Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals by The Chartis Center for Rural Health.

According to Becker’s, Chermside “aims to improve the collaboration between Aspirus hospitals in Ironwood, Ontonagon, Keweenaw and Iron River, Mich.”

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
