More COVID-19 exposure sites identified

ST. IGNACE, MI--   Contact tracing has identified more Northern Michigan sites where residents may have been exposed to COVID-19.

The LMAS Health Department says people may have been exposed on June 27 on the top deck of the Star Line ferry from Mackinaw City to Mackinac Island at 2:30 p.m.; at the Pink Pony Bar and Grill on Mackinac Island from 3 to 5 p.m.; and on the top deck of the Star Line ferry from Mackinac Island back to Mackinaw City at 6 or 6:30 p.m.

Anyone at those sites during those times should monitor themselves for symptoms and call their local health department.

As of Tuesday at 3 p.m. the Upper Peninsula reported a total of 220 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 18 deaths. Marquette County reported seven new cases Tuesday, while Menominee and Dickinson counties identified one additional case each.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
