Drug Take Back Day to be held April 25

Prescription drugs with words 'Dispose unused Rx'

UNDATED— The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is hosting the 30th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day next week.

On Saturday, April 25, 4,200 locations nationwide will participate from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event gives the public a safe and anonymous way to dispose of expired and unused prescription medications. By doing so, families can help prevent prescription drug misuse and reduce the potential for accidental poisonings.

Law enforcement and its partners will collect tablets, capsules, patches, and other forms of prescription drugs. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should be securely sealed in their original container. Syringes, sharps, and illicit drugs will not be collected.

To find the Take Back location nearest you, go to www.deatakeback.com.
