MARQUETTE, MI— Marquette County Sheriff Greg Zyburt gave some updates regarding structure safety, travel, shelter, and the outlook regarding flooding concerns. They are as follows:

STRUCTURE SAFETY:

• We are receiving a large amount of carbon monoxide calls. Please keep vents of gas burning appliances clear of snow and ice.
• Keep roofs clear of heavy snow loading to avoid collapse and structural damage
• Practice safe generator usage

TRAVEL:

• Primary roads are open except for County Road 607
• Most secondary roads are passable
• Travel with caution and watch for utility crews working restoration

SHELTER:

• Currently evaluating the need and location for potential shelters
• If you are in need of overnight shelter please call 2-1-1

FUTURE OUTLOOK – FLOODING CONCERNS:

• We are aware and monitoring flooding in the Cataract Basin and in the Silver Creek area.
• The EOC personnel are networking with the National Weather Service along with other partners to predict and respond to potential flooding from the extreme amount of snowpack on the ground.
