HOUGHTON, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be conducting routine scheduled maintenance on the Portage Lake Lift Bridge between Houghton and Hancock next week.
Cable greasing is scheduled for early next Thursday morning. The work will require several bridge lifts of up to 30 minutes each and will take place between midnight and 6 a.m. Resulting closures will affect vehicle, pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
The schedule is weather-dependent and may be adjusted.
