MARQUETTE, MI— The state’s Dependable Energy Listening Tour is making a stop in Marquette Friday.

Members of the Energy Reliability, Resilience and Accountability Task Force are holding meetings around Michigan. They’re gathering resident and business input on prolonged electrical outages caused by severe storms earlier this year.

The task force aims to create data-driven legislation that ensures consumer protection infrastructure dependability.

Friday’s meeting begins at 11 a.m. in Ballroom I at NMU’s Northern Center. Attending will be state Representative Jenn Hill and chair of the House Energy, Communications, and Technology Committee, Representative Helena Scott.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
