Negaunee Streetscape project officially complete

NEGAUNEE, MI— The City of Negaunee is holding a ribbon-cutting Saturday for its Streetscape Project.

The $3.4 million Downtown Enhancement Project upgraded the downtown area, including modernized water and sewer mains, new sidewalks, street lighting, and expanded fiber networks.

The design also included social hubs like Iron Town Plaza, which will serve as the main entryway into downtown Negaunee. Other revitalized spaces include Firefighters Square, Ericson Parkway, Chiri Park, and Tobin Place and the Rail Street Overlook.

Officials say the enhancements inspire private investment, safeguard the City's historic charm, and elevate Negaunee as a hub for outdoor recreation, where residents and tourists are invited to "Forge Their Adventure."

The ribbon-cutting takes place Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Iron Town Plaza.
