Free housing pattern books now available through Housing Now

MARQUETTE, MI— An initiative created to make home construction easier in the Upper Peninsula has released two housing pattern books.

Housing Now’s books offer two free, ready-to-download home designs: a single-story, two-bedroom home and a two-story, three-bedroom home. Both plans are approximately 1,200 square feet. The drawings were designed by local architecture firm Leppanen Anker Arquitectura.

Housing pattern books allow local developers, contractors, and residents to jumpstart a housing project using pre-drawn plans by a licensed architect, which reduces the time and upfront design costs typically associated with new construction.

The Housing Now books were designed specifically with U.P. communities in mind and are adaptable to different communities.
