UPPER PENINSULA, MI— Two more road projects will begin within the next week in the U.P.

The Michigan Department of Transportation will resurface approximately 9 miles of M-69 from west of the Felch Community Center to east of Oakes Road in Dickinson County.

The $1.4 million project starts Wednesday, May 20, and will conclude in mid-July.

And in Gogebic County, MDOT will spend about $3.4 million to replace a box culvert on M-64 over Bingham Creek. The shoulder will be widened and a guardrail installed.

That project is slated to start Tuesday, May 26. Its estimated end date is October 21.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
