Gunshot victim found in Trout Creek

TROUT CREEK, MI--   Michigan State Police from the Sault Ste. Marie Post are investigating a shooting in Chippewa County over the weekend. 

Saturday around 1:15 a.m. troopers received a report of a gunshot victim at a Trout Creek residence. Officers found a male subject with a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to Straits Hospital in St. Ignace for treatment.

Troopers say it was an isolated incident and there are no related threats to the community. No other information has been released.

The case remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
