Still no sign of missing Menominee woman

Mitch McRae

MENOMINEE, MI— Harbor Drive in Menominee is reopened, but the search for a missing woman continues.

City Police say Lisa Pipp, 42, got into an argument with her boyfriend and left their vehicle on January 13. She walked onto the ice of Green Bay toward open water. The boyfriend left to get help, but Pipp was gone when he returned.

A shoe suspected to belong to Lisa was found on rocks along the shore. A set of footprints—one shoed and one bare—was discovered leading away from the shore toward open water. No return footprints were identified, indicating she was alone at the time.

Officials used drones, divers, sonar, and a helicopter to conduct ground and water searches. Nothing else has been found. Police say there’s no indication of foul play.

Anyone with information regarding Pipp’s disappearance is asked to call the Menominee Police Department.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
